建议你每天临睡前读一遍你今年的名言：

这一句不要说从最严格的标准去衡量，最低标准也通不过。”

“The English language I have been trying my best to master”是“I have been trying my best to master the English language”的倒装，其目的是为了强调“The English language”。

真的没想到你竟然不知道这种很普通的语法现象。其实早在《圣经》里面就出现了很多类似的倒装，例如：

Another parable He put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven ..."

这句句子就是He put forth another parable to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven ..."的倒装，为了突出“Another parable”。

你帖子里的其它疑问和这个相仿，是你自己英文有问题，而不是Wang Dan同学的问题。

我上面引用的《圣经》是“New King James Version”，于1982年出版，用的是现代英语。你的论断没有意义。

这是莎士比亚“Hamlet”里面的Act II, Scene 2：

“That you must teach me”是“You must teach me that”的倒装。

这是2012年4月5日报纸上作家Jeff O'Connell写的文章：

“But his memory I will cherish always”是“But I will cherish his memory always”的倒装。

你是在自定规则。实际上Wang Dan同学信中用的修辞手法叫做“anastrophe”（“倒装”）。根据Wikipedia：

“Anastrophe is a figure of speech in which words within a clause are arranged for emphasis in an unusual order.”

Wikipedia还特别举了一个例子：

“Potatoes I like”是“I like potatoes”的倒装。

难道用“Potatoes I like”是在表达强烈的感情？只不过是在强调“potatoes”这个词而已。

晓梦：“简单的说，I have been trying my best to master the English language。 如果倒装，按照标准应该写成The English language is what I have been trying my best to master。 而不应写成The English language I have been trying my best to master。”

你又在自定标准。按照你的标准，上面Wikipedia的倒装例子应该写成“Potatoes are what I like”才算正确？前面作家Jeff O'Connell的倒装句应该写成“But his memory is what I will cherish always”才算正确？
